Not the life I'd planned.
I've often joked around about being bi-polar. My doctor assures me I'm not, but I sometimes wonder. I truly believe "something's up." I've been on antidepressants for about six years now. Originally started them for severe pms symptoms. Then stayed on them after my husband's affair and the awful years that followed to date. But my moods really swing. Up and down. I sometimes think I should note them on a calendar to see if there is a pattern.
Lately, I've been in severe shopaholic mode. I bought my scooter about a month ago. I've been buying jewelry too. Really splurging on myself, which is pretty out of the ordinary.
I like to shop, but I'm a bargain shopper. I get more joy from finding a really good piece of furniture at the Goodwill than from buying something brand new from a store.
I must be filling some void lately with my spending habits. Trying to buy happiness maybe?
Anyways, last May we bought a used Mercedes. It was a 1999 but in pretty good shape. It was my husband's idea and he found the car. I went to look at it on my way home from work and wasn't thrilled with it. I called him and told him to come home, we'd talk about it and decide. But before I even made it home, he called to say he had bought it.
The idea was I would keep my minivan and he would keep his truck and we would purchase this 3rd car, because our daughter would be driving soon. So I parked my van and drove the Mercedes SUV for the last year. But it was AWD and really sucked the gas, so I parked it and started driving my van again because the mileage was better.
A few weeks ago the air in the van stopped cooling. I took it and had it fixed. They said they couldn't find the leak, but since the car had been parked for a year, that some of the seals might have dried up/deteriorated. The car cooled for a couple of weeks, but last week or so it stopped cooling again.
So, I drove it all weekend long with temperatures in the 90's. Finally on Monday I was tired of paying a car payment on car that was parked (the Mercedes) as well as driving a car with no air. So after work on Monday I stopped and purchased myself a new 2008 Fusion.
What is monumental about that is, I did it ALL BY MYSELF!!!
To be continued...tornado sirens just sounded. ~ K
